IMPORTANT GUIDELINES FOR THE BEEDI WORKERS

Who can get the benefits?

All the beedi workers who are identified by this department and having valid identity card issued by this department are eligible for consideration for all the scheme benefits.

How to get Identity card ?

i) Each beedi workers shall apply individually with two recent passport size photographs in the prescribed application form to the District Labour Officer who shall place it before the District Level Task Force Committee, headed by the District Collector and representatives of Employer and unions.

ii) Such applications of the workers should be accompanied by a letter of identification for the workers by the beedi company owners.

iii) Such beedi company owner should posses Central Excise Licence and Labour Licence.

iv) After their application is recommended by the District Level Task Force Committee, the Medical Officer of Labour Welfare Organisation shall issue the identify card in presence of the District Labour Officer.

v) The identity cards are issued in the local dispensaries of Labour Welfare Organisation.

How to get benefits under the scheme?

For all the scheme benefits , specified form under each scheme the Identified beedi workers can contact the nearest Medical unit and the administrative offices. The application forms can also be downloaded from this web-site.
